The antiqua typeface and perfect for literature
« Inknut Antiqua », it’s an Antiqua typeface for two things : literature and long-form text. This font was created in the idea of web-publishing as a modern day private press. It’s designed to recall Venetian incunabula and humanist manuscripts, but with the quirks and idiosyncrasies of the kinds of typefaces you find in this artisanal tradition.
The paradox in that is a modern cut of an historical style
Inknut, designed by Claus Eggers Sørensen. This font is a paradox in that it is a modern cut of an historical style. An Historical style is revealed itself in the Regular weight, which has an air of Columbus, Monotype’s 1992 celebration of Spanish printing. The Extra Bold has an unexpected mix of Cooper Black, Oswald Cooper’s advertising display face released precisely seventy years earlier.
